Pool water clarifiers are a good quick fix but they should not be used if you have a cartridge filter as it will clog the paper pleats leaving you needing to replace your cartridge filter element. You need chlorine in your pool to fight off nasty bacteria and other microorganisms but the amount you use shouldn t be overlooked.

Maintain chlorine within the ideal range of 1 4 ppm. Run the pump for at least 8 hours daily. The advantage of the first option is that within an hour or two the pool water can be clear again but with everything including the calcium back where it came from. The advantage of the second is that we have softened the pool reduced its calcium hardness level but the pool will be cloudy through the filtration process which may take.

Pool clarifiers work to gather the tiny particles that have made your pool water cloudy bringing them together to create bigger particles that will be easier for your filter to pick up. Just make sure your pump and filter are running properly. The sweet spot is between 1 and 3 ppm parts per million. This keeps your water clean but also prevents it from becoming cloudy assuming everything else is balanced.
